Back to Work aims to give businesses the confidence to employ jobseekers in Queensland regions, with a focus on disadvantaged jobseekers and provide an economic boost to regions facing challenging times.
It has been rolled out across the following regions: Far North Queensland, North Queensland, Mackay/Whitsunday, Central Queensland, Wide Bay Burnett North West and South West.
The Back to Work teams help employers, jobseekers and organisations within regions connect the pieces of the system.
Back to Work officers understand the local economy and work within regions to help the local communities build their capacity to consider new employment opportunities and generate innovative solutions to local employment challenges.
The Back to Work Officers form local networks to facilitate information sharing and collaboration across local agencies to progress employment generation ideas. Network membership also encompasses employers and groups working in emerging and priority sectors.
Where relevant networks already exist, the Back to Work Officers work with them to further leverage resources and minimise duplication.
